Job Summary:

A key member of the Technology and Automation division of EDG with responsibility to grow EDG TECH. The Business Development role is a joint consulting and sales role requiring deep technical knowledge. The role will encompass strategy, technical direction, and the business acquisition process that ultimately results in growth.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Achieve the divisional target sales plan;
Participate and contribute to the technical strategy and tactics to align our services and capabilities with our target clients;
Represent EDG Technology and Automation in all facets of the business acquisition process;
Aggressively prospect for new opportunities in accordance with the tactical and strategic plans;
Responsible for the proposal process for all accounts/opportunities;
Consult and support the development and review of commercial proposals in coordination with operations;
Visibly champion EDG's 'Character by Design' and 'Unifying Principals';
Manage ongoing client relationships and act as a sponsor for key projects;
Coordinate and support all marketing initiatives including presentations, client engagements, and industry events;
Manage the CRM information for accurate frontlog reporting;
Work in close coordination with other EDG business development personnel for the betterment of EDG.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline preferred;
Ten or more years of outside sales/business development experience in the industrial integration and technology business;
Ten or more years of direct technical experience in integration and/or technology deployment - project management skill a plus;
Knowledge and relationships with key technology suppliers and ability to function in a partner/competitor environment;
Knowledge of key business areas including, but not limited to, OT/IT convergence, open process automation, digital twins, edge-to-cloud integration, and traditional automation technologies;
Strong background in contract negotiation and understanding of risk associated with the Technology and Automation line of business;
General awareness/knowledge of applicable industry standards;
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to interact and collaborate with peers across the organization;
Requires the ability and availability to travel offsite as required.

Working Conditions:
Work is primarily conducted in an office environment but also requires occasional travel to off-site work locations;
Field duties require outdoor work in a construction site or in plant type atmosphere;
Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel;
Working on a construction site or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection;
May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes;
May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.

Physical Requirements (With or without Reasonable Accommodation):
Must be able to lift and carry five (5) pounds;
Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively;
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
Sufficient vision or other powers of observation which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations;
Sufficient manual dexterity which permit the employee to perform routine office duties;
Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
