Salary: 75,000 - 110,000 (with commission)

Gear Wash is an independent service provider (ISP) for personal protective equipment (PPE) care, maintenance, and rental. We are the firefighting industry's largest turnout gear cleaning and repair operation. Gear Wash is a subsidiary of Fire-Dex, the fastest-growing PPE manufacturer. Join our continued growth! Gear Wash is currently seeking a Business Development Manager Ventura responsible for the growth and profitability of new and existing accounts for Gear Wash.

The candidate must live within a 50-mile radius of a Gear Wash location. This role is primarily a remote position based out of your home office. Virtual onboarding and training will take place in Ventura, CA (whichever location is closer to the associate). Additional visits to Gear Wash Locations and travel throughout the year are required.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Generate direct contact with end-users and build strong, strategic relationships across fire departments in your assigned territory.
  • Manage relationships with distributors in their region to maximize market penetration.
  • Work closely with members of the Fire-Dex sales team to facilitate cross-sell initiatives, customer requests, and lead generation. Develop and present sales presentations and demonstrations to end-users and distributors to educate on Gear Wash services, NFPA 1850 (previously NFPA 1851) recommendations, and end-user safety.
  • Create service agreements to include end-user PPE maintenance/ rental needs, purchasing methods, and additional information tailored to end-users needs.
  • Work closely with the sales operations team to facilitate RFP submissions and onboard new contract customers.
  • Work consultatively with Gear Wash site leaders to communicate customer expectations and needs and ensure customer retention.
  • Host fire departments at distributors at Gear Wash locations when appropriate.
  • Gather, record, and share competitive data and sales strategies with the sales team to ensure best practices are achieved.
  • Attend fire service industry networking events, conferences, trades how's in professional development and training as deemed appropriate by the leadership and HR.

Qualifications:
  • College degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Sales territory and account management experience is required.
  • Self-motivated and action-oriented, with high energy and dedication to strong customer service and sales growth.
  • Fire service industry experience is helpful.
  • Ability to work remotely as needed. Must live in or near territory (relocation not included).
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, including overnight.
  • Industry trade show/symposium/charity event attendance as needed.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels inside and outside of an organization, including verbal and written.
  • Possess strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs and manage your schedule appropriately.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills, including dealing with problems involving several variables in unique situations.
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to learn and efficiently use different software systems to access and log customer information
