Job Title: Business Development Manager

GHG Corporation (a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong understanding of government contracting to drive growth and identify new opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in government sales, relationship building, and proposal development.

Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in identifying, pursuing, and securing new government contracts and strategic partnerships within the government contracting industry. This role involves market research, relationship-building with key decision-makers, and supporting the sales cycle from lead generation through proposal submittal and contract negotiation and participation in contract execution where necessary.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in government contracting, a deep understanding of federal procurement processes, and a strong network of government agency contacts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Market Research & Strategy:
    • Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities in the government contracting sector.
    • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan targeting federal, state, and local government contracts.
  • Lead Generation & Relationship Management:
    • Identify and pursue new leads within the government sector, including agencies, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key government decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Proposal Development & Submission:
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling proposals and ensure compliance with government RFPs and RFQs.
    • Oversee proposal submission processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Contract Negotiation & Execution:
    • Lead contract negotiations with government agencies and partners.
    • Work closely with legal and contract management teams to finalize agreements and ensure smooth contract execution.
  • Pipeline Management:
    • Maintain a robust pipeline of government contracting opportunities and track progress.
    • Regularly report on business development progress, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Corporate Representation:
    • Represent the company at government contracting events, conferences, and meetings.
    • Promote the company's capabilities and solutions to government clients and potential teaming partners.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Government Contracting, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of business development experience in the government contracting space.
  • Proven track record of identifying and securing government contracts.
  • NASA and DoD experience required.
  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes (e.g., FAR, RFPs, RFQs, GSA schedules).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong networking skills and established relationships with key government decision-makers.
  • Established network within government agencies and/or prime contractors.
  • Experience with capture management, proposal writing, and pipeline development.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, events, and conferences.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Government Contracting, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with federal and state contracting databases (e.g., SAM, GovWin).
  • Previous experience with proposal writing and response to RFPs in government contracting.
  • Security clearance (preferred, but not required).
