OVERVIEW:
If you are a technical Business Development or sales professional looking for an opportunity to grow and develop professionally, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! You will own engaging the contractor, engineering, and end-user community to support the application and integration of Vilter & Copeland technology in large scale industrial-Commercial systems and solutions. The position will have a special focus on Industrial refrigeration/heat pump solutions utilizing natural refrigerants where our compression technology is highly regarded.

AS A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST YOU WILL:

Business Development:
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging network
  • Work with team to develop proposals that deliver customer value
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
  • Understand and synthesize ecosystem changes with a view to developing new products, solutions, services, and business models
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns or other unique engagement approaches
  • Actively contribute expertise, ideas, and business intelligence to the larger team to help drive continuous improvement and business growth


Account Development
  • Work with existing customers to continue to develop solutions that help them solve challenges/needs
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to participate in pricing solution/service offerings for customers
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs


Engineering Support
  • Deliver application engineering support experience where assistance is required to integrate Copeland technology within broader system
  • Perform/verify compressor and equipment selections
  • Make technical recommendations, challenge conventional thinking
  • Support the business case/economics
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues and navigate customer questions
  • Conduct/participate in technical training
  • Represent Copeland in industry associations and memberships
  • Participate in Stewardship activities


Management and Team Success
  • Ensure that ongoing customer and market intelligence is shared within the team
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company's CRM or other sales management system
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet targets
  • Ensure all team members represent the company in the best light


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, related technical degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience with Industrial & Commercial Refrigeration
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Working knowledge of scroll, screw, or reciprocating compression technologies
  • Willingness to grow, learn, develop and take-on new challenges
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Able to travel 30% to meet business needs
  • Authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship now or in the future


BONUS EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bilingual (EN/FR) speaking would be an asset for this role
  • Knowledge/experience with large industrial systems using Ammonia or CO2

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. In accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA), the base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $170,000 CAD annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
