Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of experience in economic research or development, financial services, international relations, marketing, or real estate; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in economic research or development, financial services, international relations, marketing, or real estate; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in economic research or development, financial services, international relations, marketing, or real estate; OR
An advanced degree in a business administration field, economics, or international trade plus two years of experience in economic research or development, financial services, international relations, marketing, or real estate.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) or completion of the Economic Development Institute certificate program will substitute for one year of the required experience
Possession of a Professional Community and Economic Developer Certification (PCED) or Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification will substitute for two years of the required experience.

To supervise functions of attracting, growing, and retaining state business and/or supervising administrative business incentive programs functions.
LEVEL OF WORK:
Supervisor.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Broad from a Business Development Manager or higher-level division administrator.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Direct line over Business Development Officers.
LOCATION OF WORK:
Department of Economic Development.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from the Business Development Officer 3 by the presence of supervisory responsibilities.
Differs from the Business Development Manager by the absence of managerial responsibilities and serving as assistant to a division administrator.

Supervises the daily activities of lower-level personnel.
Assists in the development and implementation of strategic alliances with local economic development organizations to enhance program delivery.
Prepares supporting data to assist management in making recommendations or new legislation.
Coordinates advertising campaigns, design, and placement which are directed at the motion picture and television industry to induce these industries to come to Louisiana.
Reviews and makes recommendations for all data entered into the division website before final approval.
May represent the state of Louisiana as a speaker and panelist on a national and statewide level in the absence of the Business Development Manager.
