Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is looking for an innovative, results-oriented and strategic Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) individual who is comfortable diving into complex problems and can develop solutions to recommend business decisions.
\tYou have a department-wide view of the analytical solutions that you build, and you consistently think in terms of automating or expanding the results company-wide.
\tYou should be skilled in database design, conduct analytics using SQL and Python, and build lightweight tools and methods for others to replicate and scale their work.
\tYou are comfortable dealing with large and complex data sets, and have experience building self-service dashboards and using visualization tools especially Quicksight.
\tYou should have strong analytical and communication skills, and ability to work through ambiguous problems in a fast paced environment to develop and define key business questions and requirements.

Key job responsibilities
\tDesign, build, and maintain automated reporting, Quicksight dashboards, and analyses to enable self-service of data needs, allowing you to focus on answering hard and ambiguous problems.
\tWrite high-quality SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (ex. Redshift, MySQL, Oracle).
\tAbility to break down and solve complex problems while actively engaging with internal partners throughout the organization to meet and exceed customer service levels & transport-related KPI's
\tRecognize and adopt best practices in reporting/analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation while driving scalable solutions.
\tUnderstand data resources and know how, when, and which to use (and which not to use)
\tContinue to move forward in the face of ambiguity and imperfect data. Find a solution around the problem that still maintains a high analytical bar. You do not suffer from "analysis paralysis".
\tAbility to manage through conflict with a positive, flexible and professional attitude
\tCommunicate analysis results and techniques, both verbally and in writing, clearly and confidently to peers and business partners.
\tExplain analysis results to the stakeholders through verbal and written communications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
