Job Description

Hilltop Holdings is seeking a passionate Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. This role involves designing and implementing analytics programs, maintaining standards in our ETL environment, and collaborating with various teams to optimize resources and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and modify processes, data structures, and models.
  • Explain complex data implications clearly and concisely.
  • Create and maintain standards for ETL development.
  • Perform data and process analyses as required.
  • Contribute to short and long-term goal setting.
  • Develop action plans and aid in accountability.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including infrastructure, to ensure best practices and corporate standards.
  • Evaluate products and performance in client interactions.
  • Maintain objectivity to ensure relevant processes and products.
  • Make data-driven decisions and recommendations.
  • Provide technical expertise in assessing prospective technology solutions.
  • Troubleshoot software application issues.
  • Analyze data in corporate databases to identify data integrity issues.
  • Assist Business Intelligence Analysts in gathering requirements for complex technology initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with third-party software integration partners.
  • Communicate software limitations and functionality to non-technical users.
  • Facilitate and organize meetings with project stakeholders.
  • Optimize and administer current queries.
  • Configure and promote objects through development to production using version control systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or a combination of related experience and education.
  • Additional certifications exemplifying a desire for continued education are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in analytics or a relevant field.
  • In-depth understanding of ETL concepts and technologies.
  • Ability to effectively design dimensional and star schema models.
  • Knowledge of formal database architecture and design.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office, databases, and web-based applications.
  • Proficient with SQL.
  • Attention to detail and aptitude for working with data.
  • Highly accurate and thorough in all tasks.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
  • Proven experience as a collaborative team player.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with Python is a plus.
  • Experience in developing and implementing standards, procedures, and guidelines to support operational processes.
  • Proven flexibility and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
