The Strategic Business Unit Manager will be responsible for increasing profitability by promoting products and providing technical support within an assigned territory.

Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Manager Duties
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Directly participate in sales efforts to close orders
- Coordinate fluid power initiatives with various Branches and Regional Managers
- Identify target accounts and prospects
- Work with VP of Marketing and Business Development to produce marketing materials and events promoting the SBU
- Provide marketing suggestions for social media posts and other digital content
- Assist in the development of fluid power data collection, interchange information, case histories, documented cost savings or value-added savings, eCommerce, and application data
- Maintain Crimper Lease Program
- Provide advanced-level technical application support via phone, video conference, or in person
- Stay current on new products and technologies and educate Customers and Purvis Team Members about these new developments
- Determine final disposition of warranty claims and work with suppliers to resolve difficult cases
- Produce and present technical training for Customers and Purvis Team Members about fluid power products
- Determine gaps in Tier One coverage of SBU products and recommend suppliers to fill holes in product offering
- Identify new potential Alliance Partners to improve coverage as needed
- Technically vet potential Alliance Partners
Other duties as assigned by the VP of Marketing & Business Development
Requirements
- Five (5) years of Fluid Power experience, hydraulics preferred
- Strong Customer service and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and organization skills, able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Ability to multitask and manage time well
- Ability to travel overnight approximately 50% of the time
- Current Fluid Power Society Certification (or willing to work towards it)
- Proficiencies: Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, GoToMeeting
- Good driving record
