Tesla is seeking a Business Operations Analyst to join its Regulatory Credit Trading team under Corporate Development. The team originates, negotiates, and executes revenue generating transactions within regulatory emissions markets around the world. The role is dynamic and high impact. Applicants must have a passion for Tesla's mission to advance the world's transition to sustainable energy, and successful candidates will be extremely detail-oriented, analytical, and effective communicators. The scope for this position is global and the preferred location is either at Palo Alto, California or Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities
  • Manage business operation for the Regulatory Credit Trading team by leading the ongoing compliance reporting under relevant regulations
  • Support fulfillment of existing transaction by modeling and maintaining detailed fundamental market analysis and industry trends
  • Interface with policymakers, regulators, and other external stakeholders involved in regulatory emissions and compliance markets around the world
  • Maintain cross-functional coordination with internal teams like homologation and design to ensure accurate reporting and proactive decision making that comply with regulations
  • Manage the ongoing reporting, delivery, and invoice requirements associated with the transactions
  • Ensure accurate external financial reporting by working with accounting and audit teams
  • Produce weekly and monthly financial reports for the business and finance teams


Requirements
  • Evidence of exceptional ability in a professional capacity with 2+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, energy/environmental policy, corporate development, equity research or similar industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements, analyst reports, regulations, and technical documents highly preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail with excellent analytical skills (e.g. Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint, financial modeling, etc.)
  • Highly collaborative and team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills to synthesize complex topics into understandable points, particularly with senior business leaders and external stakeholders
  • Analytical and creative first principles thinking with the ability to solve problems with limited information
  • A sense of humor, agency, and comfort navigating an ambiguous environment
