Job description
The Business Process Engineer is responsible for creating, optimizing, documenting, implementing, managing, and controlling the businesses processes required to make Air Cruisers Company a world class manufacturer.
1. Management of all aspects of the Business Process Management Program.
2. Continuously identify areas requiring improvement and process documentation within the Air Cruisers Company at all locations.
3. Optimize and streamline new and existing processes.
4. Simulate processes with iGrafx software when required.
5. Revise process maps and related documentation when required.
6. Assist with the implementation and modification of newly defined processes.
7. Post all process maps and related documentation at a location that is easily accessed by all employees of Air Cruisers.
8. Validate new process implementations.
9. Validate existing business processes within Air Cruisers Company when required.
10. Participate on Lean Six Sigma and Lean teams when required.
11. Lead Lean and Six Sigma teams within the Business Process Management Program.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Business Process Control:
1. Create a system to manage all process maps and work instructions related to business processes.
2. Fully document the requirements for creating standardized process maps.
3. Create and manage standardized process map templates.
4. Create and manage a process map change process.
5. Approve all process map revisions.
6. Ensure all process maps utilize a standardized format.
7. Ensure all process maps are created using Microsoft Visio or iGrafx software.
Additional description
General Tasks
1. Maintain a list of all active, future, and completed business process management tasks.
2. Provide a written monthly status report when requested.
3. Present a quarterly progress report to upper management when requested.
4. Provide a written report within 2 weeks of the fiscal year end detailing all accomplishments achieved during the fiscal year.
5. Maintain all computer and paper files utilized in the Business Process Engineer function using Lean Office principals to ensure any member of the Air Cruisers Company may perform your job activities in your absence.
6. Must utilize Lotus Notes to schedule, accept, and reject all meeting invitations. All meetings, travel days, and vacation days must be logged into the Lotus Notes calendar.
Candidate skills & requirements
Language Skills:
1. Must be fluent in English with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals related to business process management.
2. Must be able to clearly and effectively present information to team members and management in English.
3. Fluency in Spanish is desired.
Mathematical Skills:
Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations including rates, ratios, percentages, and yields.
General Computer Skills:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, and Movex.
Specific Computer Skills:
1. Must be able to create process maps in both Microsoft Visio and iGrafx.
2. Must be able to manage the iGrafx document repository.
3. Must be able to simulate processes using the iGrafx software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from a four-year college or university and at least five years of related experience or training.
Flowchart experience, excellent computer skills, understanding of process maps, auditing skills, excellent communication skills, works well with others and in a team environment.
