We are a family owned window and door company located in Vacaville, CA. As a Business Software Engineer, you will apply knowledge of enterprise applications and development to analyze, program, and implement Data Sourcing (ETL), Report Building, & Data Governance best practices in support of business objectives. You will be responsible for the analysis, development, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support of the ETL processes and Power BI solutions for the Enterprise Applications & Data team. You will work closely with product owners to understand business requirements, design effective ETL solutions, and ensure the reliability and performance of data pipelines.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Education: B/A, B/S, in Computer Science or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 5 + years of relevant experience.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Data base tool set.

• Experience with 3 - 4 is ERP systems, preferred.
• Experience with Azure Cloud, preferred.
• Power BI Certification, preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Understand business requirements and perform technical implementations using knowledge of enterprise applications and technical expertise.
• Understand master data management concepts and principles.
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration based on-premises and hybrid environments.
• Implement error handling, logging, and auditing mechanisms to monitor and troubleshoot data quality and integrity.
• Design and implement data integration and orchestration workflows
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of ETL processes to meet scalability and performance requirements.
• Document processes, data mappings, technical specifications, and best practices for reference and future maintenance.
• Develop Power BI functionality to optimize, extend, and integrate enterprise applications, data, and reports.
• Design and develop Power BI data models, following best practices for dashboard and report creation.
• Engage in prototyping, designing, and publishing Power BI Reports.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to acquire, clean, and transform data for reporting purposes.
• Support QA and UAT testing activities for Power BI solutions.
• Participate in team sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and technologies related to ETL, data integration, and cloud-based data solutions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office/manufacturing environment. Occasionally requires exposure to the factory floor and manufacturing areas. Use of personal protective gear as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to occasionally maneuver a minimum of 25 pounds and load / unload product without assistance. May require some bending, squatting, climbing and reaching.
