Position Summary
The Business Solutions Division in the Revenue Division is seeking a dynamic Business Systems Analyst with a strong background in data management and analytics who is excited about learning.

The Business Systems Analyst II will have the opportunity to apply their skills in data management and analytics to support revenue collection and fraud prevention. They will be able to show off their data management talents through bringing in and ensuring external data sources are current and available to revenue staff. Additionally, they'll be able to display their analytics talents working on solutions for fraud detection and prevention.

As aBusiness System Analyst II, you will:
  • Configure software solutions for data warehouse, interfaces, reporting, and fraud prevention utilizing software development lifecycle practices.
  • Provide data management support and input to data management strategies and overall data governance
  • Configure data import processes including setting up data stores, transformations, and file transfers maintaining the quality and security of the data.
  • Identify data sources and coordinate the exchange of data between databases or with external data sources.
  • Develop and implement analytical approaches for identifying potential fraud.
  • Review, analyze, and troubleshoot system defects.
  • Collaborate in an agile team to implement technology solutions that meet customer information needs.
  • Monitor and apply regulatory and legal changes that affect data sources and data structures.
  • Track and maintain detailed information relating to managing multiple data sources.
  • Collaborate with system vendors to identify and resolve technical issues; recommend changes and system updates.
  • Participate in creation of policy, templates, processes, and other components for data governance.
  • Work with sensitive information ensuring its protection and security is maintained.

To Qualify
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:

  • Experience using SQL and managing data import and export using extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes.
  • Experience applying analytic and problem-solving skills to develop data driven software solutions.
  • Experience promoting an equitable workplace that demonstrates an environment respectful of living and working in a multicultural society.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, demonstrating tact, diplomacy, and patience.
  • Experience maintaining accurate files, records, and documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting and diving into details to isolate and resolve data and system defects.
  • Although not required, you may have one or more of the following:
    • Experience working for a public agency.
    • Experience with administering taxes or tax software
    • Experience with analytical software tools such Microsoft Excel, R, PowerBI, Tableau, or other
