Business System Analyst
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills-
We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to gather and document business and technical requirements for our Risk Derivatives Reporting, Analytics, and associated Data Warehouse. This role involves collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of reporting and data warehouse solutions.
Experience with data warehousing tools (e.g., any RDBMS, Data lake).
Knowledge of regulatory requirements in risk management and derivatives trading.
Over 6 years of proven track record in business system data analysis and progressive responsibilities
Proficient in working with Derivatives, Hedging, Trading Platform, Annuity insurance data
Awareness of Finastra(added advantage), XML-based trade data ,Github, Tableau,AWS Cloud Fundamentals,
Awareness of AWS S3, AWS Athena is preferred
Strong command of SQL
Proficiency in business analysis concepts including business process modeling, context diagrams, use cases, and user stories
Skilled in techniques for requirements elicitation, project scoping, requirements analysis, and project planning and analysis activities
Utilizes resource tools, primarily Jira, for managing tickets, stories and communication
Proficient in Project Management and SDLC processes; awareness of agile/iterative approaches
Experience working with a data warehouse and/or analytics team
Strong ability to extract information through questioning, active listening, and interviewing
Excellent communication and information embedding skills
Roles & Responsibilities
Gather and document business requirements for the Risk Derivatives Reporting and Analytics needs. Including creating wireframes and modeling the associated data hat will be necessary to meet the reporting and analytic needs of the Risk Derivative front and back-office teams.
Work with Data Warehouse data analysts to model data in the consumption layers that is scalable and performant for reporting and analytical needs.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Conduct data analysis and validation.
Develop and maintain documentation.
Facilitate meetings and workshops including the ability to ask probing questions and get underlying requirements that are not always obvious.
Support and troubleshoot reporting and data warehouse issues.
Elicits, analyzes, and documents business and technical needs of strategic programs/projects with medium to large complexity, ambiguity, urgency, risk, and technical and regulatory sophistication.
Leads analysis efforts for assigned programs/projects while coordinating the work of other business system analysts as required
Facilitate communication among multiple business and IT stakeholders
Bridges the gap between analysis, design, and development work to achieve desired outcomes
Develop data mapping documents, transformation logic, and business glossaries to standardize data consumption.
Generic Managerial Skills, If any
Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst in the financial services industry.
Strong understanding of derivatives trading and risk management.
In-depth knowledge of options, futures, swaps, and forwards.
Experience with self service reporting and analytical tools and the underlying data needs to make solutions performant. (Tableau, Business Objects, etc)
Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools.
High-quality, complete, correct, and unambiguous business and functional requirement documents
Defect-free, intuitive, streamlined, and effective resulting processes, business practices, and systems that meet business needs.
On-time delivery of requirements within fundamental project metrics (scope, time schedule, and costs)
Positive feedback from project manager, sponsor, and team regarding role effectiveness and deliverables
Salary Range- $85,000-$95,000 a year
