Under the general direction of the HR Applications System Administration/Operations Lead, this position is responsible for Tier 1 and Tier 2 systems support for multiple applications that support the HR Department and UC Davis community across campus and Health. This position requires excellent customer service, communication and analytical skills to diagnose system issues, troubleshoot root causes, and distinguish user errors from system errors. In support of triaging Tier 1 cases, the position is responsible for understanding business processes, functional specifications, application administration, testing, problem resolution and providing technical assistance to customers. This position will know how to escalate complex issues, as well as who the appropriate parties are.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training
Experience triaging technical user issues by trouble-shooting and determining root cause analysis or escalating appropriately.
Experience working in a customer service driven, team environment that requires excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate technical information to technical and non- technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Experience maintaining confidentiality and exercising judgment and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive data.
Analytical skills to clarify inquiries and requests for technical problem solving and root cause analysis.
Strong customer service as well as strong written and verbal professional communication skills to relay technical instructions to non-tech savvy employees.
Ability to collaborate with team members from different backgrounds on problem solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in and/or supporting large, enterprise wide HR systems, UCPath and Job Builder preferred
Experience working in a higher education environment
Experience utilizing a CMS to manage Tier 1 tickets and triage.
Knowledge and ability to research multiple data sets and systems that intersect in order to further the analysis for root cause, prior to escalating.
Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Self-motivated to work independently and as part of a team.
