The City of Austin D/B/A Austin Energy requires the services of one Business Analyst 1 hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification Business Analyst and the specifications outlined in this document for Austin Energy.

WORK DESCRIPTION:
Austin Energy is recruiting for a highly experienced and effective Business Analyst Senior. Austin Energy's Advanced Metering Systems & Engineering (AMSE) program is part of the utility's Advanced Grid Technologies group, focused on various electric metering technology. This highly technical position will report to the AMSE Program Manager. The successful candidate will have exceptional skills in data analysis, testing coordination, process write up and process design. The candidate must also exhibit demonstrated success in project coordination, including stakeholder relations, working with vendors, consultants, and cross functional teams.
  • Essential duties and functions may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned:
    Research utility usage, determines average consumption, verifies interval data, and investigates high usage orother anomalies for possible causes and resolution.
    2. Extracts data and presents facts to customers providing utility reports, as needed, for management of usage.
    3. Evaluates different metering events and make manual adjustments as required.
    4. Contributes to assigned utility projects from initiation to completion. Maintains, safeguards, and provides original documents.
    5. Presents metering data as required to billing resolutions related to MV90/AMI billing reads.
    6. Reviews and performs data extracts from metering system to external systems and customer review.
    7. Develops, revises, and implements procedures and processes to facilitate the meter reading processes.
    8. Assists in the resolution of questions or concerns by providing supporting documentation related to the meter reading.
    9. Coordinates and assists the metering engineers with setup and tracking of data related to meters in metering lab, including the coordination of systems with data entry.
    10. Coordinates and documents business level requirements, design for system and process flows.
    11. Deliver efficiencies and service improvements, leading on continuous improvement initiatives, including :Improving the customer experience including proactive action to prevent future complaints; Exploring opportunities for collaboration across business units and divisions within Austin Energy; Process efficiencies and communications enhancements.
    12. Must have good communication skills and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships.
