Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

Salary Range: $75,000- 90,000

Location: Administration - Seattle

About the Position

The Business Systems Analyst will act as the primary IT liaison for the Retail, Finance, and Business Operations teams and other business stakeholders, with a strong focus on optimizing workflows through Microsoft Dynamics 365 (including Commerce and Finance modules), Dayforce, and other enterprise systems. This role combines systems analysis, business process improvement, and light configuration, with a particular emphasis on point-of-sale (POS) and customer-facing platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Support
    • Partner with stakeholders to gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional solutions.
    • Work closely with operations, finance, and HR teams to identify opportunities for system enhancements and workflow improvements.
    • Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams, clarifying needs and validating proposed changes.

System Support & Troubleshooting
    • Support day-to-day system operations across platforms such as D365, Dayforce, and POS, triaging issues and working with vendors or internal teams to resolve them.
    • Assist with system configuration, user access management, and light platform administration.
    • Document and track recurring issues, contributing to root cause analysis and long-term resolution planning.

Workflow Optimization & Collaboration
    • Collaborate with senior analysts and application managers to design more efficient cross-functional workflows.
    • Analyze and support data flow between systems to improve accuracy and consistency.
    • Contribute to business process improvement efforts that increase adoption and reduce manual effort.

Training, Documentation & Adoption
    • Assist with user training efforts including preparation of materials and facilitation of onboarding sessions.
    • Support user acceptance testing and coordinate feedback loops for new features or changes.
    • Maintain user documentation, training guides, and workflow diagrams to support long-term system adoption.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with end users to identify emerging needs and promote user engagement.

Education and Experience
    • A bachelor's degree in fields like Business Administration, Information Systems, or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
    • 3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a similar role supporting POS, enterprise applications, workflows, and system integrations.
    • Familiarity with POS environments and retail technology workflows
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical stakeholders
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
    • Experience with business process modeling, systems analysis, or workflow documentation
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate across cross-functional teams
    • Available to support the business as needed, including nights, weekends, after hours, and on-call
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to stay focused, manage priorities, and keep projects moving forward.
    • Clear empathy and respect for frontline staff, with a commitment to delivering and designing practical, user-centered solutions.
    • Comfortable analyzing problems, thinking critically, and offering practical solutions that help teams work smarter.

Skills and Competencies
    • Hands-on experience specifically with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce (Retail), Finance & Operations (F&O), and integrated POS systems
    • Strong understanding of Microsoft Commerce POS software and its integration with ERP and eCommerce platforms
    • Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, and Azure DevOps
    • Strong understanding and working knowledge of PCI, SOX, and Data Governance principles
    • Strong awareness of evolving industry standards and technologies in the Point of Sale environment
    • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including managing release pipelines, configuration management, and solution deployment in Dynamics 365 or similar platforms.

Physical Abilities
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit for periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, and operate computer systems.
    • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills.
    • Maintain reliable attendance.

Work Environment
    • Exposure to computer screens.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
    • Required in off work schedule, at least 5 days/week in office.
    • Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, or remotely from home.
