Position Overview
Reporting to the Associate Director of Business Systems, the Business Systems Engineer is pivotal in maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of business applications and processes. This role requires attention to detail and can organize and prioritize tasks. The engineer is expected to provide reliable and robust support to personnel to ensure their day-to-day interactions with business applications and processes are reliable and robust. Taking ownership of their work, the Business Systems Engineer should possess scripting abilities and a solid understanding of troubleshooting applications. Excellent communication skills are a must.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Provide respectful and professional support to users
- Manage systems while handling small to midsized projects.
- Automate process and workflows using available tools (PowerShell, python, MS SQL)
- Address issues and clearly document resolutions
- Collaborate with users and team in process improvement
- Oversee the preventing, detecting and resolution of application issues
- Liaise with 3rd party vendors to report and resolve application concerns
- Support the internal IT team to help test and resolve issues
- Prioritize user requests and team projects effectively and ensure most critical tasks are addressed in a timely manner
- Aid in setting up and facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Skills and Knowledge Required
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a business systems engineer
- Proficiency in PowerShell or Python
- Proficiency in SQL
- Aptitude to learn new technologies
- Able to operative effectively in time sensitive and high stress situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- General knowledge of Windows operating systems
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Familiarity of trading and investment management systems
- Understanding of equities and financial terms
- Familiarity with Job Schedulers
