The Equipment Business Unit Manager provides leadership that will drive the growth and profitability of the Equipment business at Alpine by providing strategic direction and leadership to the $72M product portfolio of truss assembly equipment. This role is responsible for developing a growth-oriented culture, cultivating a robust talent pipeline, and serving as a champion of the ITW Business Model. The BUM is directly responsible for oversight of operations, engineering, field service execution, technical support, and sales funnel management.

Additionally, as a key member of the Alpine division leadership team this leader will seek new high-quality opportunities for growth that leverage the current product base as well as opportunities to deliver high value innovative solutions in the truss equipment space.

Primary Responsibilities

Customer Back Innovation
  • Drive accelerated growth through targeted opportunities based on sustainable, differentiated solutions that solve customer pain points
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Software Development to drive technology breakthroughs and implement new product development plans
  • Define clear go-to-market strategies that support organic growth initiatives of the business unit

Operational Excellence
  • Lead culture of safety excellence, with a goal of zero incidents
  • Continue strong track record of Customer Facing Metrics including in-full, on-time delivery, high quality and low lead times
  • Champions the ITW Business Model and uses company business processes and tools and sound judgment to analyze processes, and identify and act on areas to reduce risk, complexity, and/or cost savings
  • Participate in the Annual Planning Process and contribute to long-range strategic and financial plans.

Talent and Pipeline Development
  • Partner with HR to develop a structure, competencies and skill set that supports our growth initiatives
  • Build pipeline through external hiring and targeted development plans of current staff
  • Identify and accelerate development of hi-potential talent
  • Drive aggressive growth mindset with functional team as well as cross-functional

Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required in Business, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or similar field required; MBA or Engineering degree strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of increasingly responsible experience working within manufacturing and operations including full supervision of a multi-shift operations team, safety, quality, and supply chain
  • Understanding about 80/20 concepts and the implications on how the business should operate. Plus a strong track record of operational improvements, new product development and/or customer back innovation process
  • Strong financial acumen, knows financial levers, and drives functions to effectively contribute to the division's results
