Job Title: Physical Therapist
Job Specialty: Rehabilitation Therapy - Physical Therapist
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Guaranteed Hours: 40
Experience: Minimum 1 year
License: Must hold an active license or plan to test soon for a Physical Therapist license in the state in which you intend to work.
Certifications: Must maintain and update relevant skills and certifications as necessary.
Must-Have: Degree in Physical Therapy
Job Description:
- Implement patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength.
- Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries.
- Guide and monitor patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up.
- Supervise PT Assistants and Aides in all aspects of patient care.
- Communicate with physicians and others to ensure quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient chart documentation and follow up on prescriptions, test results, authorizations, etc.
- Ensure patient comfort and provide answers to questions when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up.
- Demonstrate necessary computer skills for typing, Word, Internet, EMR, etc.
- Make independent decisions regarding patient care.
- Participate in business marketing and referral processes when necessary.
- Adhere to privacy policies and procedures complying with relevant regulations.
- Be knowledgeable in billing policies and procedures, including Medicare, work compensation, private, auto, liens, cash pay, etc.
- Be proficient in DX and ICD-10 coding for billing services.
- Be physically mobile to include a combination of stool sitting, walking, and prolonged standing for 8-10 hour workdays based on patient care schedules.
- Be capable of lifting 50 pounds and assisting patients with mobility restraints, transfers, and providing safety assistance.
Note: This position is not expected to involve travel-related duties. Continuing education courses are preferred.
