Position Summary...
The Principal, Technology Operations role is crucial for ensuring the smooth functioning of our Technology Operations department. This position is responsible for maintaining the effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives. By collaborating with business partners, managers, co-workers, and other key stakeholders, the Principal, Technology Operations ensures that business needs are met. Key responsibilities include Investment Management (CAPEX), I&O Program Coordination, PMO Liaison and Governance, Stakeholder Management, Listening Meetings, and Facilitation.

What you'll do...
  • Business Operations: Requires knowledge of organization KPIs and assessment techniques. This role involves designing the organization's planning processes and decision-making channels. It includes explaining the advantages and risks of using business simulations for critical decisions, comparing business issues and trends within the unit to other units, developing business cases for the function, and reviewing cases for other functions. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of the business, its interrelationships, and priorities, along with a strong foundation in business fundamentals, measurement, and finance.

  • Technology Landscape Awareness: Requires knowledge of technology strategy and its linkages to the domain, understanding of existing and upcoming systems, technologies, and trends, product technical information, domain-specific market standards, methodologies, tools, processes, and checkpoints. This role involves developing, evaluating, and implementing proposed scenarios for projects and initiatives, providing technical insights to influence stakeholder decision-making, translating business unit/domain requirements into strategies, initiatives, and projects, aligning them with business strategy and objectives, and driving the execution of deliverables. It also includes building and articulating the business case and return on investment, delivering work with demonstrable value, challenging technology assumptions, developing new organization-wide processes, and teaching and guiding others on best practices.


  • Program Definition: Requires knowledge of program management techniques, tools, and frameworks, benefits analysis, and program planning tools and techniques. This role involves understanding business requirements and priorities to define an integrated plan for implementing large-scale organizational programs (10+ vertical tracks). It includes defining the charter, statement of work, module owners, and performance measurement baselines for all modules within the program, applying understanding of operational and financial factors that drive organizational success, and recommending solutions that work across business units/functions.


  • Program Monitoring and Control: Requires knowledge of program monitoring and control tools and processes, internal and external program reporting and logging tools and processes. This role involves decomposing performance metrics for the program into measures for different projects, tracking progress, developing forecasts to overcome anticipated risks, guiding the implementation and use of program management tools, and developing processes to improve the throughput, efficiency, and effectiveness of programs.


  • Influencing and Building Stakeholder Consensus: Requires knowledge of verbal/non-verbal behaviors, application and allocation of business communication styles/techniques in ambiguous and challenging situations, communication channels/mediums, interpersonal skills, and universal relationship building with the ability to connect seemingly unconnected parties, influencing styles. This role involves leading discussions with varying viewpoints confidently, influencing diverse audiences using customized communication and appropriate frameworks, leveraging fact-based data and analytics insights to build a cohesive narrative, presenting in a clear, concise, and meaningful way, demonstrating superior decision and coordination skills when faced with conflicting or ambiguous inputs, becoming a trusted advisor to diverse stakeholders, influencing them to act on product/technology matters, providing respectful, effective, timely feedback, and seeking, internalizing, and utilizing received feedback.


  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects: This role involves identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance, providing resources, identifying performance standards, measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly, developing contingency plans, and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.


  • Financial Management: Requires knowledge of financial management tools and processes, budgeting, and internal and external program communication tools and processes. This role involves creating, managing, and monitoring the program budget, providing estimation/budgeting inputs to business cases, annual operating plans (AOPs), and long-range plans (LRPs), monitoring delivery schedules and cost expenditure for the program, and projecting the ROI of future programs.


  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity: This role involves training and providing direction to others in their use and application, ensuring compliance with them, and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.


  • Ensures business needs are being met: This role involves evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives, consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders, soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and participating in and supporting community outreach events.


Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology operations, program management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in technology strategy, program management tools, financial management, and business operations. Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies and trends.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage large-scale programs, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Content production: understanding and ability to write whitepapers and executive presentations for leadership discussions.
