Description:

Objective of the Position: Support day to day production of canning process.

Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
  • Drive process development and improvement related to canning including related tooling and equipment.
  • Ensure the deployment and improvement of process standards and best practices related to canning and big diameter tube lines.
  • Support new tooling design review with corporate business unit manufacturing engineering team.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to existing tooling considering product interface with the product.
  • Ensure manufacturing feasibility before program launch, working with the business unit and manufacturing engineering to design the appropriate flow diagram of the process.
  • Troubleshoot, develop, evaluate, and improve canning process (60%).
  • Assist in tool, fixture, and material flow and continuous improvements for those areas (20%).
  • Train associates working on equipment (10%)
  • Recommend modifications to reduce downtime (10%).
  • Overseeing all operations for the Kirschenhofer and Weil machines.

Secondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
  • Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all EETAM polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirement Profile:

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum five years' experience in automotive field with canning experience
  • Minimum three years' experience with exhaust/welding.
  • Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Technical Expertise:
  • Knowledgeable of welding and metal forming techniques and processes.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, etc.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
  • Analytical- Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures
  • Business Acumen- Understands business implications of decisions.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundaments, mechanical systems, automotive systems, and exhaust systems.
  • Project Management- Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget.
  • Strives to continuously improve expertise, knowledge and skills.
