What You'll Do:
- Own the Numbers
- Manage the capital project budget from end to end - ensuring alignment with scope, milestones, and timelines.
- Lead cost forecasting, identify variances, and collaborate with project teams to stay on budget and on plan.
- Track every dollar, from contractor invoices to internal allocations, and ensure capitalization is accurate and audit-ready
- Drive Better Decisions
- Prepare timely reports that translate raw data into clear, strategic insight for executives and stakeholders.
- Analyze forecast vs. actual costs and lead corrective action planning with key contributors.
- Monitor funding flows, ensuring draw requests are accurate, compliant, and aligned with project milestones.
- Protect the Budget
- Conduct variance analysis on forecasted vs. actual costs, making adjustments as needed to keep the project on track.
- Oversee the invoice review process, ensuring payments align with contract terms and progress.
- Partner with Treasury, Legal, Procurement, and external lenders to safeguard financial integrity and contractual compliance.
What You'll Bring:
- CPA designation is mandatory; PMP is an asset
- 5+ years in a cost control or financial leadership role for industrial or construction projects >$250M
- Expertise in financial reporting, variance analysis, and capitalization for capital assets
- Solid understanding of construction contracts, funding agreements, and invoice workflows
