The Town of Holly Springs is searching for a Capital Projects Administrator to serve in the municipal engineering group.
Located in the desirable Research Triangle Park region on the southwest side of Raleigh and a population of nearly 50,000 residents, Holly Springs offers a small-town atmosphere with a variety of opportunities that arise from a growing economy as the town is transitioning into a larger and more dynamic community.
This position will work in the fast-paced Utilities and Infrastructure Department. This professional position will play an essential role in delivering a wide range of civil and municipal engineering projects including the management, design, construction, and maintenance support of the Town's infrastructure systems, including but not limited to utility, transportation, traffic management, geotechnical, stormwater, parks, greenways, and environmental systems.
The work schedule is business hours with occasional evenings and weekends. The annual starting salary is $70,604.62/yr. (Grade L).
Essential Duties
The Project Administrator will work as part of the Project Team during the construction phase of a project and is responsible for facilitating and coordinating activities with consultants, contractors, inspectors, and permit agencies to deliver the project on schedule and within budget.
The Project Administrator will serve as the on-site professional for the Project Team during the construction phase of the project to ensure that the project is constructed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and Town standards.
The Construction Administrator will serve as the primary point of coordination for all submittals and inquiries between the Contractor(s) as well as testing and inspection activities required during construction.
The position will also serve an essential role with the Town's Asset Management Team and Maintenance Teams to ensure the transition from the construction phase of a project to the commissioning, acceptance and maintenance phases is successful.
Responsibilities include working with other Town departments and external governmental agencies in a collaborative manner to achieve the goals of the Town.
Responsibilities also include communicating effectively with citizens and elected officials to address concerns and inquiries concerning the Town's infrastructure systems.
Minimum & Preferred Requirements
Requires knowledge of municipal operations, engineering design, construction, and contracting processes; the ability to develop effective working relationships with contractors, consultants, other Town departments, and external agencies; strong organizational and communications skills; and a good working knowledge of the project delivery processes.
Preferred B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field along with considerable construction and/or engineering experience. Experience in alternative project delivery systems and project management is also desired.
