The Heart Team at Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a full-time non-invasive Cardiologist to join our highly collegial team. The Heart Team is a closely knit group of outstanding providers (MDs and APPs) providing clinical services across the entire spectrum of cardiovascular diseases in conjunction with an extended team of Heart and Vascular Service line providers.
In this role, it is necessary to demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
Opportunity Highlights
- Time is about evenly split with clinic, inpatient rounding, and imaging
- Inpatient cardiology consultations
- Ambulatory consultations and follow-up at the Clinic and Specialty Center and community outreach locations (as applicable)
- Echocardiography including transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Nuclear imaging and advanced cardiac imaging (including cardiac CT and cardiac MRI) are available
- General cardiology call (1 in 8 nights, 6-7 weekends/year)
- Strong fellowship program, allowing ability to work 1:1 with high quality fellows (hosted in conjunction with the Minneapolis Heart Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital)
- All cardiology division members belong to the Department of Internal Medicine and have academic positions at the University of Minnesota Medical School

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota (or eligible for licensure)
- Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship training program in Cardiovascular Disease or an AOA accredited fellowship training program in Cardiology.
- Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine or in Cardiology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine or equivalent certification by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
- Level II training in Echocardiography (including TEE)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level II training in Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac CT and/or cardiac MRI
- Strong commitment to post-graduate medical training
