Responsibilities
- Support well workover planning and implementation.
- Developing cavern solution mining plans across brine well fleet.
- Support well site supervisors and wireline crews conducting well/cavern logging.
- Review and interpret well logs (i.e. spectra-gamma (ray log, TD/interface logs, cement bond log, casing inspection log, sonar log, gyroscopic log, etc.).
- Support well location selection, design, and drilling operations.
- Support the acquisition, interpretation, and application of geophysical logs and surveys (i.e. 2D and 3D seismic surveys, gravity surveys, XMAC imaging, etc.).
- Review and interpret the development of caverns and the spatial relationship between caverns, lease property lines, and location in a salt dome.
- Support permitting of new wells and routine regulatory compliance and reporting.
- Estimate available salt reserves remaining in developing caverns and in current and greenfield salt domes.
- Review and interpret subsidence results and help maintain subsidence programs.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. Mining Engineering or Petroleum Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of five years' cavern or well engineering experience. Ten years preferred.
- Experience in solution mining operations and brine production is preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work well within a cross functional team with individuals of varying backgrounds, experience and education, including hourly operators and mechanics.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, electronic libraries, and applicable software.
- Willingness to spend time in the field and away from the corporate office as required by workload demands.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills including the ability to make presentations to senior management, clients, the public, and at professional conferences.
- Ability to multi-task and take on other roles within the organization as needed.
Working Conditions
- In-office environment. Computer, email, and phone related tasks. Required or Willingness to travel.
