NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for "lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing process Inspection machine management". This role requires a strong understanding of "Machine vision system and Image analyzing skill".

We are seeking a highly skilled "Cell Inspection Engineer" to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for "lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing process Inspection machine management". This role requires a strong understanding of "Machine vision system and Image analyzing skill".
This position is responsible for mainly:
- Inspection Machine PM Management through PM Planning, Technician Work orders, optimization of inspection machine for preventative measures, establishment of inspection machine spare parts, calibration for inspection machine performance and management of Measurement System Analysis.
- Responsible for inspection equipment improvement by analyzing, quantifying equipment failures and its causes and implementing preventative measures based on findings.
- Improving inspection machine accuracy and detection power by establishing a system utilizing inspection information management system.
- Responsible for expansion of equipment and dissemination/application of new technologies for equipment
- Review and plan for inspection model development and model changes.
- Establishing, revising, updating PD Manuals and equipment standards.
- Provide technical assistance in installation and maintenance of company equipment. Perform equipment upgrades as per customer requirements.
- Maintain documentations for equipment installation, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes.
- Communicate with vendors to solve complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives to provide support.
- Act as primary contact for equipment performance related questions and concerns.
- Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot the machines on the production floor to ensure highest yield and OEE
- Improve production processes by creating various SOPs and train technician to ensure understanding and correct implementation to floor
- Maintain communication between department co-workers and manage production flow from one process to the next
- Prepare and participate daily/weekly/monthly meetings with other teams.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any engineering major is preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in math, physics, statistics, or related field helpful but not required
- MS Office tool-based report writing and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well with individuals and teams across the company to achieve team goals and targets
- Computational Skill, Troubleshooting, Problem-solving, Statistical knowledge
- A team player who can multitask and thrive in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Engineering or Science preferred
- 3+ years manufacturing industrial experiences (Especially, lithium-ion batteries industry)
- 2+ years industrial machine vision system experiences
- (Especially Line scan / Area scan camera, optic lens and lighting condition setup, troubleshooting & management, inspection software optimizing experiences)
- 1+ years Deep learning database study experiences.
- 3+ years C++, C#, GPU programing (CUDA) work experiences (Especially, Inspection algorithm coding, image feature analysis work experiences)
