Title: Executive Director, Athletics

Under limited supervision, plans, develops, directs, implements, and monitors the policies, budget, and scheduling for secondary school's athletic programs.

Essential Functions:

The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Tasks and responsibilities will be in concurrence with implementing the strategic plan and aligned management system. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Establishes and enforces administrative policies and procedures of athletics department.
  • Administers rules and regulations that govern athletics in Dekalb County School District (DCSD).
  • Communicates with parents, coaches, principal, vendors, and all athletic stakeholders.
  • Coordinates schedules of all athletic teams at the middle and high school levels.
  • Administers budget for athletics' department.
  • Oversees the operation and management of stadiums, including safety and security of all athletic events.
  • Conducts seminars with parent groups on athletic issues/concerns.
  • Conducts annual inventory of all athletic equipment in secondary schools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Education Administration, Athletic Administration, Coaching, or closely related area is required.
  • Minimum seven (7) years supervisory level athletic administration, coaching or closely related experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS:
Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in educational leadership at level L-5, NL-5, PL-6 or above required. If a level L-5, NL-5, PL6, or above certificate is not held, the individual must be eligible for the NPL certificate in educational leadership or Support Personnel License from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (HR applies for SPL upon hire)
