WAGES COMMENSURATE WITH EDUCATION*
High School $68,036, increasing to $89,764 on 1 year anniversary
Associates Degree $69,668, increasing to $92,058 on 1 year anniversary
Bachelor's Degree $70,782, increasing to $93,311 on 1 year anniversary
* Degrees must be in law enforcement, criminal, justice, police science, police administration, public administration, sociology, psychology, pre-law or human services.
Employees hired after 7-1-00 may purchase, during the first two years of employment, for retirement plan purposes only, up to three (3) years of service as a sworn police officer in another municipality, provided the employee actually performed law enforcement work, and provided the employee is not entitled to a pension from the municipality.
Certified Officers may be eligible for a $500 per year (up to $2500.00) signing bonus based on years of experience as a certified officer.
