Lantern Government Solutions is seeking highly skilled and motivated Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (multiple openings) for a long-term contract opportunity at the Togus VA Medical Center in Togus, Maine. Provide comprehensive anesthesiology services in a collaborative environment to deliver high-quality care to our nation's Veterans. About the Role:

Approximately 95% of time will be dedicated to direct patient care, encompassing pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative services, with responsibilities extending to both clinic and surgical settings.

Your daily responsibilities may include:
  • Clinical & Surgical Care:
    • Deliver comprehensive anesthesiology services for patients undergoing a wide variety of surgeries, including orthopedic, vascular, ENT, urologic, gynecologic, general, colorectal, and ophthalmologic procedures.
    • Provide timely and present care for all scheduled clinics and surgical procedures.
    • Administer acute and chronic pain management, emergency airway management, and diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography.
    • Manage patients in surgical ICU, short-stay units, and provide bedside and outpatient consultative services.
    Medical Record Documentation & Information Security:
    • Maintain medical documentation according to VA and facility-specific guidelines.
    • Ensure test results are communicated appropriately.
    Medication Management & Patient Education:
    • Follow all VA-established medication policies; no sample medications shall be dispensed.
    • Provide thorough discharge education and follow-up instructions aligned with the next level of care.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the VA facility.

Work Schedule:

Anticipated to start June, 2025. Normal operating room shift times are 7am- 5:30pm. Off-hours coverage / on-call requirements expected for emergency airway management and emergent OR cases, available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site within 30 minutes.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • RN Licensure: current, non-restrictive license
  • Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
  • Currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency
  • Able to provide proof of immunization / vaccination record in accordance with VA policies for tuberculosis, MMR, Varicella, Acellular Pertussis, Influenza, COVID-19
