CGP: Controller

Our client, in Pasadena, CA, is seeking a Temporary-to-Hire Controller with expertise in non-profit accounting, government billing and contracts, and financial management. Hybrid role. Only local applicants will be considered. Salary $58 to $62 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the month end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
• Monitor compliance with government regulations and reporting standards
• Manage government billing processes and collaborate with program managers to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Track and manage budgets and expenditures
• Coordinate with annual audits and external auditors
• Maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Oversee payroll processing functions in ADP ensuring accurate and timely payroll disbursements

Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field of study
• 5+ years of proven experience in non-profit accounting
• QuickBooks and MS Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
