JOB TITLE: Charge RN/Special Procedures Nurse
REPORTS TO: Cath Lab Director/CNO
POSITION SUMMARY: Special procedures nurse will be responsible for assisting with interventional radiology procedures and cardiology procedures. Special procedure nurse will perform PICC line placement. Other job functions include: Admission and discharge assistance and pre/post procedural nursing care. Performs all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred. BSN preferred. At least one year of experience with interventional radiology procedures and/or one year of experience with interventional radiology procedures and/or one year experience in Emergency Department or Critical Care Unit. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience of nursing experience preferred. Experience in procedural sedation and able to assist in TEE, stress tests, thoracentesis, paracentesis, biopsies, interventional radiology and cardiac cath lab procedures preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current California RN license and BLS certification required. ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire or status change. PALS preferred. Basic dysrhythmia 120 days within date of hire or status change.
