Chemical Engineer, Lithium

The Technology Team is responsible for the commercialization and implementation of production processes for Tesla's Lithium and Recycling organization at GWh scale. We are looking for a highly motivated Chemical/Process Engineer to support commissioning and operations efforts at Tesla's new Gulf Coast Lithium Refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. Through a high degree of creative freedom, you'll be working alongside a muti-disciplinary team on the execution of high value and globally impactful projects with a novel approach.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant performance and generate optimization pathways for a first-of-a-kind refinery
• Provide technical support and guidance throughout the installation and commissioning process
• Conduct technical reviews and evaluations of equipment designs to identify areas for improvement and optimization

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering or equivalent experience
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in SYSCAD and PI
• Experience in commissioning of a refinery at commercial scale
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, including fluid dynamics, inorganic chemistry and thermodynamics
• Experience in consolidating large datasets and using data visualizations tools (e.g. Power BI, Powerpoint, Excel)
• 2-5 years of industry experience
• Ability to communicate insights from large, complex datasets in a simplified manner
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
