The Chief Analyst - SOM Finance is responsible for supporting financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and accounts management. This role ensures financial data accuracy and provides essential reports for leadership to support organizational decision-making. Other responsibilities also include collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to Finance, making recommendations and assisting in implementation of projects. Work is performed under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Assist in the preparation and management of department budgets, ensuring alignment with financial projections and institutional policies.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including expense tracking, revenue projections, and variance analysis.
  • Process and monitor financial transactions, ensuring that payments and receivables are recorded correctly.
  • Assist in managing state fund allocations and tracking fund utilization to ensure compliance with funding policies.
  • Ensure financial processes adhere to institutional policies, internal controls, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers and appropriate levels of management regarding assigned functions.
  • Establish effective working relationships with departmental personnel for assigned functions.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Current experience working in the Texas Tech Physician Group in Lubbock.
  • Knowledge in performing basic analysis, research, organization and summarization of financial data.
  • Experience with TTUHSC financial software and reporting tools, satellite systems that feed internal accounting software, with a basic understanding of related financial activity.
  • Experience managing state and local funding allocations.
  • Knowledge of TTUHSC clinical budget management and financial reporting.


Pay Statement
