Moffitt Cancer Center's Information Technologies division is a shared services organization that supports all of Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. We are conducting a national search for a Chief Application Systems Officer (CASO). The CASO is an executive leader within Moffitt Cancer Center and reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), and is responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing the establishment and management of all enterprise clinical, ancillary (lab, imaging, etc.), business, and revenue cycle applications across Moffitt Cancer Center.
The role's scope is to oversee the management, maintenance, implementations, upgrades, support and enhancements of these application systems in order to meet or exceed standards of performance and availability to the health system and its patients. This role will also be a key business partner across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership. This will require very strong negotiating and people skills to facilitate the delivery and support of the applications for both inpatient and outpatient care systems, ERP, revenue cycle systems, and others.
The Chief Applications Systems Officer must be highly knowledgeable about both technology as well as the operational and business processes that depend on the technology supported. The ability to make and retain relationships across all the departments in the Center for Digital Health (IT, Digital Innovation, Health Data Services, and Clinical Informatics) will be critical. This position will serve as a role model and champion of Moffitt's mission and vision.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Demonstrated experience in design, development, implementation and support of all applications across the Enterprise including but not limited to business applications, revenue cycle applications, clinical applications and/or research applications in a healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication skills, avoiding or educating audience on complex terms as it relates to the enterprise applications, provide transparency regarding operations and strategies, and timely communication on projects.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, process improvement, work-flow modeling, project management, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to develop collaborative and interdependent peer relationships; evaluate, establish and maintain consistent IT service standards and encourage innovation to enable efficient and effective clinical and business solutions for Moffitt.
- Self-motivated with ability to prioritize multiple objectives under tight deadlines and ability to work independently with little to no oversight.
- Conduct and lead insightful and productive discussions with senior business and technical decision makers. Expert collaborator, with the skills and maturity needed to work effectively across multiple disparate teams and drive stakeholders to timely decisions.
- Exceptional verbal/written communication and presentation skills, including demonstrated success developing executive communications and working across senior leadership to curate content.
- Seasoned people manager with proven experience in developing and growing leaders and teams.
- Strategic thinker and planner; able to take high level goals and vision and translate into tactical plans and roadmaps
- Ability to provide sound, knowledgeable, and practical advice to the CIO and leadership team.

- Demonstrated experience in defining and driving strategy for key initiatives that support the organization in pursuit of Moffitt's mission.
- Experience in ERP selection and implementation highly preferred.
- Experience in working with Research and Research Applications / Scientific Computing preferred.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related, a Master's Degree preferred
- 15 years in the IT industry
- 10 years experience in the IT Applications / Systems area, including both EMR and ERP
- 10 years experience in a leadership role
- 5 years experience in a IT Applications / System Director or higher role in a healthcare delivery system
- Experience with one of the major EMRs such as Cerner, Epic. etc.
- Experience with one of the major ERPs such as Lawson, Workday, etc
