Primary Objective of Position

Manages Intek's commercial operations, including sales, marketing, and customer service. Main responsibilities are to drive business growth, increase revenue, and improve profitability.

Hands-on leader who directs, leads, and participates in formulating and administering business unit policies and developing long-range goals and objectives.

Major Areas of Responsibility

Develop strategy
  • Create and implement a commercial strategy that includes identifying opportunities for revenue growth and setting growth targets.
  • Develop plans to meet annual sales and marketing objectives and 3-to-5-year strategies.
  • Recommend and implement sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.

Develop relationships
  • Lead the sales team in developing relationships with our key customers - at all levels of the organization.

Manage teams
  • Provides marketing skills and expertise to the Company by building, developing and managing a marketing, customer service, and sales team to ensure their capability in carrying out the necessary marketing strategies and tactics to meet company goals.

Optimize revenue
  • Ensure the company's revenue streams are optimized and that the company adheres to its annual budget.
  • Responsible for quote model & quoting process including ensuring desired margins.
  • Lead development of annual account plans for top customers.

Maintain competitive edge
  • Ensure the company's capabilities and services are relevant and competitive, and lead initiatives to increase market share.
  • Update management team on key competitor activities and assess impact on company.

Analyze data
  • Use data analysis to identify trends and patterns that can help predict customer behavior and develop strategies to increase sales.
  • Creates sales & marketing reporting function and process that can track, measure, analyze, and communicate performance, and quickly act when needed.

Be a thought leader
  • Act as a thought leader in the plastics industry, and participate in conferences, webinars, and podcasts to share insights and create awareness for Intek brand.

Marketing
  • Responsible for the marketing communications of the company. Ensures all marketing communications present company brand image, support marketing plan objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources

Executive Leadership
  • Participates in key management activities and assigned committees.
  • Provides input and support to the Company's leadership in the development of joint ventures, affiliations and partnership arrangements.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to customers, employees, CEO, board of directors, etc.
  • Supports Intek Plastics Inc. policies and procedures and conducts departmental and Company activities in accordance with these policies.
  • Every employee is expected to support the INTEK Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with our Quality System Manual and Documented Procedures. This position is responsible to set, follow and maintain the QMS and related Documented Procedures. This position also has change authority over their processes.

Other Performance Indicators
  • Ability to build relationships at senior levels of our customers and coach our sales team to develop deep relationships with our customers.
  • Ability to integrate sales teams as the company pursues acquisitions.
  • Ability to effectively work and collaborate in a union environment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent. MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience with successful progression in a sales and marketing leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success developing account plans driving growth in legacy accounts.
  • Experience in a custom manufacturing environment.
  • Plastics industry experience required.
  • Experience integrating sales teams via acquisitions.
  • Successful revenue, margin and quoting departmental responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a sales team in a $100M+ business.
