RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Reports directly to the Director of Engineering.
  • Deals with department heads to ensure their operating problems are solved.
  • Meets with both internal and external customers in order to solve problems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under the direction of the Director or Engineering, organizes the maintenance and repairs of the hotel building and plant following the guidelines in the Technical Maintenance Manual.
  • Regularly inspects plant rooms and guest to identify problems. Liaisons under contractors are required.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, ensures hotel water systems are properly treated.
  • Participates in all safety and security programs.
  • Maintains maintenance logs and records.
  • Orders day to day maintenance purchases in accordance with IHG purchasing policy.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, ensures the departmental training plan is implemented.
  • Attends such seminars and training course to further his education as may be necessary.
  • Sits on hotel committees for energy savings and any others at the request of the Director of Engineering.
  • Attends meetings and hotel training sessions as required by hotel management.

    • Ability to focus attention on details.
    • Must be able to maintain a highly positive and friendly image that will reflect well on hotel's overall appearance.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Must be conscious of culture differences.
