Chief Engineer - Washington, DC
EML, LLC has an immediate need for an experienced Chief Engineer for our government contract site in Washington, DC.
Summary
The Chief Engineer is a person, designated in writing by the Contractor, who has responsibility for the building's systems including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and the oversight of technicians. The Chief Engineer is to be onsite in a full time capacity and on-call to respond to emergencies. It is recommended that the Chief Engineer's tour of duty be arranged such that time is spent each week with all operational shifts. If the Chief Engineer is not available, a designation must be made to act on their behalf. The Chief Engineer shall be dedicated to the contract full time for not less than one year, and shall be administered in accordance with the contract clauses.
The Chief Engineer must possess at a minimum of at least five (5) years of supervisory experience within the management of building mechanical maintenance operations and supervision of technicians for buildings of 350,000 square foot or more.
The Chief Engineer must possess a First Class D.C. Steam Engineer's license. A current Universal CFC certification is also expected. 10 years experience in industrial Chiller plant / Central plant operations, maintenance, and repair with capable BAS experience/skills. 5 years experience supervising personnel.

- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work, as required; demonstrate working knowledge of engineering and building systems;
- Ability to read, review, and understand blueprints; ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Shall be available for emergency contact via cell phone twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year
- Shall have an availability to work flexible hours as required in response to emergency situations; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, CMMS and project tracking software.
