We move you! This health-based Association has provided practice support, services, and voice for its nearly 3000 members for close to a century!

It's purpose is to help members maintain practice excellence and evidence-informed care through the programs and resources they provide and it's discipline has an outstanding story to tell as it strives to make a greater impact in our health and lifestyle choices.

The staff and strategic capacities of the organization have been greatly enhanced and it has positioned the Association as a trusted partner across multiple sectors and with government in ways crucial to advancing their practitioners in BC.

Collaboration and advocacy have been the two consistent words that stand out with the Association and they support that collaboration is at the heart of the organization. This includes the process of developing and implementing the strategic plan, the governance model, the building of meaningful relationships with stakeholders and partners, and the ongoing development of its people and culture.

Advocating on behalf of its' members has resulted in growth across all that the Association does and they have seen significant growth in the student registration, third-party providers, and in their relationship with government and other stakeholders.

About the Position

The CEO ensures that the Association is an effective and sustainable organization in service of its members within the profession and for the people of British Columbia overall.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Participate in strategy development and oversee strategy implementation;
  • Oversee and manage all financial aspects;
  • Stand accountable for all marketing and sales efforts;
  • Ensure that the Association is meeting the operating goals to:

- Advocate for members with insurers of services/areas of practice, with other professional associations, and with various government and other bodies;
- Increase knowledge and awareness of the discipline to the Public
- Provide access to members for their ongoing contributions, both within our organization, and in service to the profession overall; and
  • Attract, oversee and manage all employees, contractors and volunteers.
