Compensation:

Salary Range: $113,172 - $160,206 (Grade B, 775 points)

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations in the field ensuring all 98 security posts at MTA Bus locations, NYCT Bus Depots, Train Yards, Shops, Fulton Center and other facilities are adequately covered. In addition, this position will manage all Transit Property Protection Agents (TPPA), Transit Protection Supervisors (TPPS), contract armed guards and other security personnel to enhance access control for the protection of employees, visitors, customers and rolling stock Transit-wide. This position is accountable for preventing and reacting to any threats against NYCT properties and its employees, including providing armed guard services for the executive staff.

Responsibilities will also include but are not limited to managing the SERT Team (Security Emergency Response Team) performing inspections for non-public/restricted areas of the subway system for homeless encampments, system vulnerabilities and other unusual conditions ensuring track areas/tunnels, abandoned rooms/stations and emergency exits are essential to the safe and secure operation of the subway system.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in public administration, finance, systems analysis and a minimum of eight (10) years of experience in a security environment, including five (5) years in a managerial / supervisory capacity; or

  • 2. A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

    Desired Skills:

    Experience working in security environment is preferred.

    Experience working in a high-pressured environment.

    Familiarity with local laws, NYCT rules, regulations and procedures.
