We are searching for an engaging, passionate, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to help lead our College during this ever-changing Community College environment.

Essential Functions:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Coastal Bend College will oversee the development and maintenance of monthly financial statements for the institution and the CBC Foundation. As a memberofthe President's Cabinet, theCFO provides financial leadership and collaborates to accomplish strategic priorities. The CFO supervises all accounting and financial services functions and is accountable for all functionsofthe BusinessOffice and Auxiliary Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains sound operating procedures to ensure compliance with college policies, state and federal regulations and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB);
Oversees the preparation of the Annual Financial Report;
Maintains a sound investment program for college funds;
Prepares revenue projections and analysis;
Leads and implements the developmentofthe annual budget process. Develops short and long-range budget projections;
Oversees preparation and administrationofthe College budget including all funding sources andfinancesofthe Foundation;
Develops and maintains an efficient system to process paymentsofall College purchases. Develops a system that ensures payments are made to vendors in a timely and accurate fashion;
Conducts bi-weekly verificationofpayroll;
Prepare periodic financial analysisofoperations in all aspectsofthe educational plan;
Develops a system that ensures all College receipts are properly recorded and accounted for;
Prepares and/or reviews accurate and timely monthly financial reports to the President's Cabinet and BoardofTrustees;
Implements and maintains internal control procedures to ensure the safeguardingofassets and reliabilityoffinancial data;
Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliationofpayroll, debt service, grants, and investments to the general ledger;
Oversees on-going capital asset inventories;
Monitors the expendituresofgrant funds to ensure compliance with funding agencies, college policies and procedures;
Supervises the Distribution Center to ensure fixed assets are accounted for, recorded, maintained, and disposedofas needed;
Manages the College's cash flow strategies;
Directs participation in the College's continuous improvement processes and serves as a system administrator for the budgeting software tool for the institution;
Develops and deploys regular training and professional development opportunities for employees in financial systems, software applications and services, local, state, federal laws and compliance, grant monitoring and compliance, external accreditation and institutional reporting as it relates to the finances of the institution;
Reviews and authorizes paymentofthe College's financial obligations;
Performs other duties as assigned by the College President.
Other Duties:
College responsibilities such as Institutional Effectiveness Committee, SACS-COC accreditation, Task Force, etc.
Travel Requirements:
Requires frequent and consistent travel to each of the campus sites.Some travel as needed to attend regional, state and national conferences for professional development purposes.
Environment:
Standard business office environment.
Minimum qualifications:
A Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting or Finance is required. Eight years of progressively increasing experience in the accounting and finance area, managing staff with diverse responsibilities; and an understanding of the community college philosophy. Travel is required; a valid Texas driver's license is required. Strong technical skills including data analytics, projections and forecasting, and visualization are essential. Strong project and team management skills. Ability to foster teamwork and a positive working environment. Ability to effectively speak in public and present monthly financials to the Board of Trustees. Exceptional financial leader.

Degree Equals Master's
Details Equals CPA,Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance Background. Working knowledge of fund accounting and GASB preferred. Experience/expertise inHigher Education is highly desirable. Non-profit accounting experience is a plus. Grant compliance experience preferred. Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague, BankMobile, and SPOL preferred. Strong organizational planning and data retention skills. Ability to work with area Economic Development Officers and Organizations to foster community partnerships and vibrancy
