About the Role
Reporting to the President, the CFO oversees all financial and fiscal management aspects of our business. The CFO works with strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, efficiency metrics, educating middle management, forecasting needs and the securing of new business funding.

About the Role
Reporting to the President, the CFO oversees all financial and fiscal management aspects of our business. The CFO works with strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, efficiency metrics, educating middle management, forecasting needs and the securing of new business funding.
Responsible to:
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the President and leadership team on company vision and foster stakeholder relationships at all levels.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead budgeting, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and financial planning to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Capital & Funding: Identify new funding opportunities, optimize capital structure, and improve financing costs.
- Reporting & Compliance: Oversee all fiscal reporting, maintain strong relationships with banks and capital sources, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and audits.
- Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement operational efficiency measures and reporting systems to enhance financial performance.
- Team Leadership: Provide direction and mentorship to finance and administrative staff, ensuring the development of strong internal controls.
- Risk Management: Oversee the business insurance plan and assist in contract negotiation.

What We're Looking for in You
- Chartered Professional Account (CPA) designation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
- 5+ years of private sector financial leadership experience, ideally as a Controller or CFO.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and managing financial reporting.
- Proven ability to develop strong relationships with senior management and external stakeholders (banks, auditors, etc.).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills with the ability to drive financial strategy.
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and experience with general ledger software.
Nice to have: (Specialized experience or industry knowledge)
- MBA or advanced degree in business or finance.
- Experience in the retail industry, especially in lumber and building materials.
