Description:
Chief Financial Officer
Department: General and Administrative
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Washington, DC
Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 / year
Description
In this high-impact role, you will report to and work closely with the CEO, serve as a key advisor to the leadership team, supervise one direct report, and oversee an outsourced accounting partner. Our outgoing CFO has built a strong financial foundation, implementing systems and processes that have positioned us for the next phase of growth. You will build on that foundation and work across teams to assess funding needs, innovate financial models, and launch capital strategies while ensuring alignment with our mission to improve health equity and outcomes through socio-behavioral analytics and data.
This role requires adaptability, agility, and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment-prior startup experience is a must. You'll balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, using a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape to drive informed financial decisions.
Surgo Health has evolved from a mission-driven nonprofit into a fast-growing, revenue-generating business, closing $30M+ in deals over the past two and a half years-without outside capital. As we refine our product-market fit, services will remain a key part of our model, but SaaS will become the primary growth driver over time. You will play a key role in positioning Surgo Health as an attractive opportunity for impact investors, crafting compelling narratives that articulate our financial trajectory alongside measurable social impact. Keeping our mission at the center of decision-making, you will provide strategic financial leadership to navigate market shifts, drive sustainable organic growth, and, when the time is right, secure funding to responsibly scale our impact.
What you'll achieve:
Financial Strategy & Leadership
SaaS & Services Revenue Model, Pricing, and Financial Metrics
Capital Markets, Fundraising, and M&A Strategy
Team Leadership & Financial Infrastructure
