The Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the hospital, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The CHRO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team and the board of directors.

  • Provide coaching and direction to Human Resources (HR) and Employee Health (EH) staff to drive performance improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate and recommend organizational changes that improve the overall operational performance of the company and its' employees.
  • Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the hospital's mission and strategic vision.
  • Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall hospital operations objectives.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management team regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Work with the hospital's executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the hosptial.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits globally.


REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in HR or related field.


REQUIRED MINIMUM CERTIFICATION:
  • No professional certifications required.


REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of 15 years of HR experience, with at least five years of executive HR experience.


REQUIRED MINIMUM SKILLS:
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment, wage and salary laws and regulations. Ability to interpret and advise on the application of EEO/AA laws.
  • Ability to analyze and assess training and development needs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • PHR/ SPHR or SHRM CP/ SCP certification preferred.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time or exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.


WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • No potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
