Key Responsibilities:
As the Chief Information Officer, you will oversee the entire spectrum of information technology management functions, ensuring a robust and secure infrastructure that supports our academic and operational goals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Leadership: Drive the college's IT strategy, encompassing cybersecurity, hardware and network management, software licensing, and technology acquisition.
- Team Development: Supervise, train, and evaluate IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Project Management: Lead the planning, development, and implementation of campus-wide software, hardware, and services, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives.
- Network Oversight: Provide leadership and management of campus network infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for voice, data, and video services.
- Budget Management: Oversee the ITSS department budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions that meet business and academic requirements.
Duties Include:
- Manage ITSS programs and services, including Help Desk support, computer labs, network connectivity, and system security.
- Lead and support the campus cybersecurity team, developing policies, procedures, and training to protect our infrastructure.
- Collaborate with NDUS CIOs and security councils to establish effective technology policies and standards.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify and develop technologies that align with the college's mission and regional needs.
- Review and approve campus IT projects, coordinating with NDUS resources as necessary.
- Actively participate in various campus and NDUS committees to ensure a collaborative approach to technology management.
- Work with vendors to negotiate pricing and procurement of hardware and software, ensuring adherence to established processes.
- Recommend upgrades to campus technology, ensuring that systems remain current and effective.
- Design and implement policies and guidelines related to information technology in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or a related area and seven years of experience or an appropriate associate degree and ten years of experience.
- Five years of experience in supervision of personnel and demonstrated administrative leadership and management skills in positions of significant responsibility.
- Experience with budgetary responsibility, strategic planning, policy creation and administration.
- Advanced knowledge and experience of a wide range of information technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to understand and carry out complex instructions.
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills, ability to promote collaboration and cooperation among diverse constituencies, ability to relate to people of varying ages, backgrounds, and technical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education information technology.
