Job Summary

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of APP is a key leadership role reporting to the system SVP Strategy & Operations and is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, quality of care, and performance of the physician practice group. The CMO will work closely with the CEO, senior leadership, and physician leaders to ensure that the practice group delivers high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care. This role will focus on clinical governance, strategic planning, operational oversight, and fostering a collaborative environment for physicians, clinical staff, and administrative leadership. The CMO will also ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, promote continuous improvement in clinical care, and drive innovation within the practice.

Education and Experience:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in a clinical specialty (preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a physician practice group or healthcare setting.
  • Strong experience in clinical operations, quality improvement, and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven experience in value-based care models, clinical integration, and leading change within healthcare organizations.
  • Experience in financial management, including managing clinical budgets and improving practice efficiency.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or related field.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
  • Expertise in clinical integration, care coordination, and population health management.
