QUALIFICATIONS
Member of the active Medical Staff and Executive Council at Hospital for Special Care - required. Board certified in Neurology & Neuromuscular Medicine - required. Clinical experience as a Neuromuscular Specialist/Neurologist - required.
JOB SUMMARY
To provide Neuromuscular patient care. To teach principles of Neuromuscular Medicine (NM), to provide NM leadership to programs and personnel; to develop NM service models of care and to advocate for diagnostic and supportive care for NM patients.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Predominantly involves sitting, standing, walking, reaching and bending are occasional. Push/pulling up to 35 pounds.
COGNITIVE DEMANDS
Significant related to patient care/evaluation problem solving and planning. Communication is key for running interdisciplinary team. Computation particularly with regard to impairment evaluations and rating.
WORK DEMANDS
Predominantly indoor climate controlled work climate. Occasional exposure to dust/odors and blood/wounds. Varied work demands balancing patient care requirements, meetings, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversight and Clinical Leadership and vision of entire Neuromuscular Center Organizes, plans, directs, and coordinates the clinical departments within the NMC to ensure an effective delivery of neurosciences care to our patients. Provide strong clinical leadership within the organization and out in community for the NMC program and build strong stakeholder connections in the healthcare market as well as local community to strengthen our position in the market as well as our relationships with our referral base, providers, and the patient population. Provides a strong vision for the NMC and ways to grow and develop the clinical programs. Collaborates and works closely with the Practice Manager on operational and strategic initiatives to ensure strategic growth and strength of the overall center Operational efficiencies (i.e. scheduling, patient flow, denials) Ensure meeting budgeted volume initiatives Outreach with key stakeholders and referring providers to the NMC Establishes/reviews clinical/medical policies and procedures for NMC Monitors and tracks clinician productivity with the medical directors to ensure all clinicians within the center are working at the highest level of their license. Work in collaboration with HFSC leadership on strategic growth and new initiatives to help grow the program and services we provide. Develop key Quality and Volume Metrics for each of the departments to ensure high level of care and strong financial performance (in conjunction with the Practice Manager)
