ABOUT THE POSITION

The Chief of Security is responsible for the operations of Credo Services, overall physical security of all Faros facilities, and liaises with tenants and local law enforcement for all security-related concerns or issues. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the Security Supervisors and indirect supervision of all security personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Develop and maintain policies and procedures regarding facility security and public safety for properties in the Faros portfolio
• Hire and manage the necessary security personnel to provide appropriate security coverage of the designated locations
• Monitor and identify employee and facility security threats and coordinate responses accordingly
• Develop an annual security budget and manage costs efficiently
• Obtain third party security proposals and make recommendations for approval.
• Manage third party security contracts.
• Manage and maintain camera systems and access control systems
• Perform ongoing evaluation of existing systems, roles, and responsibilities, and propose methods to improve security and reduce cost
• Be the point person for emergency responders during a crisis management situation.
• Responsible to ensure the Company complies with local, state, federal regulations, especially in areas of privacy, health and safety.
• Collaborate with property teams regarding policies, procedures, and corrective measures to maintain a secure environment.
• Lead security awareness training initiatives to educate about best practices and potential threats.
• Assist with developing emergency response plans
• Monitor and maintain access control and camera systems
• Assist with responding to threats, alarms, panic buttons, etc...
• Complete incident reports and share with appropriate personnel
• Publish periodic public awareness documentation for tenants
• Conduct periodic background checks.
• Evaluate geographic regions with regards to crime rates, etc. as requested.
• Occasional travel will be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of ten (10) years of related security experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience with a demonstrable track record of developing and implementing security strategies and frameworks.
• Former law enforcement experience
• Must have or have the ability to obtain a Pennsylvania Private Investigator License
• Strong organizational and communications skills, and the ability to read and write simple correspondence.
• Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Working knowledge of access control systems and CCT camera systems.
• Working knowledge of camera systems

GENERAL INFORMATION

This is a full-time position (Monday - Friday), located at Nova Place on the Northside of Pittsburgh. It is an in-office position.

The Chief of Security on call for emergencies 24/7 with the exception of scheduled vacation time.
