The Charles Lea Center in Spartanburg, SC is looking to hire a full-time Chief Operating Officer (COO).

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) position earns a competitive yearly salary.

The Chief Operating Officer will work under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide administrative support and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the organization.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER:

As a Chief Operating Officer (COO), you are responsible for ensuring that the processes, procedures, and practices support the day-to-day operations of the organization. This position has the authority to make operational decisions that align with the strategic direction of the Charles Lea Center. The COO will also be responsible for overseeing key administrative services including Human Resources, Operations, Professional Development, and Information Technology to assure that they meet the internal and external customer needs and expectations. As the key member of the Senior Leadership Team and COO will work closely with the CEO, CFO, CPO, and the Board to establish the overall direction and vision of the organization. The COO will ensure that systems and structures are in place that include, building effective project teams, managing day to day operations and seeking opportunities to introduce more efficient internal operations, and ensure that infrastructure and operational systems are sufficient to meet new initiatives, growth, and other opportunities. As the COO, you will be responsible for oversight, input, and develop best practices, support, and resources to HR to ensure that it can meet its core functions including HR policy and procedures, Documentation, On-Boarding, Benefits Management, Retirement Planning, Employee Relations, Performance Management System, and Overall Employee Experience, and ensure that Human Resources practices are developed and implemented that meet Federal and State requirements in Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The COO will have to assure that all key functions of IT are being met including, cybersecurity, equipment inventory, software systems, networks, phones, and etc. Also, will provide guidance and support in developing and implementing a variety of professional development opportunities, and initiate and ensure onboarding training is accredited by the National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals. The COO will look for ways to improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness that eliminates bottlenecks and redundancy and any other assigned duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass a background check upon hire.
  • Valid driver's license


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master's degree (preferred) or a Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience or a minimum of seven (7) years of accounting or budgeting experience.
  • Strong Organizational and Leadership skills
  • Strong Analytical skills and Software skills related to finances
  • Be able to Travel in Spartanburg County, and Columbia for state conferences
