COMPENSATION

Salary Range: Min. $159,915- Max. $226,976/ EXEC 1578

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Chief of Track position entails multifaceted executive responsibilities, encompassing strategic vision, operational oversight, and financial stewardship for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of NYCT's extensive network of 821 miles of mainline and yard tracks, as well as 2,667 track switches. As the custodian of NYCT's extensive track network, the Chief plays a pivotal role in ensuring the system's integrity and efficiency. As a steward of safety, they develop and maintain policies and procedures to safeguard personnel and equipment, meticulously plan and allocate budgets, managing both capital and operating expenditures. The Chief oversees Track's EAM program to optimize divisional assets by planning maintenance activities, scheduling inspections, and allocating resources efficiently. They are accountable for identifying areas in need of maintenance based on structural requirements. This position demands 24/7/365 responsiveness when emergency situations arise, ensuring appropriate actions are taken by Track personnel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Baccalaureate preferred in Transportation Management, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

15 years of total experience; 10 years of managerial/supervisory experience

DESIRED SKILLS (includes but not limited to):
  • Extensive knowledge of NYCT & Subways rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of track maintenance and repair operations.
  • Knowledge of the NYCT subway system.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • High level decision making, negotiation, conflict resolution, teambuilding and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
