The purpose of this position is, under the leadership of the Civil Lead Engineer, to apply the essential administrative and technical knowledge to produce required deliverables related to the civil aspects of the project, on time and within budgetary restraints. This position will adhere to the QRS (Quality Requirements System) established for the department in ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. This position may have the responsibility to serve as Design Lead on assigned projects or perform moderate to difficult complex design assignments.
Supervise and provide guidance/assistance to project designers to produce 3D model of earthwork using OpenRoads and underground utilities model using SmartPlant S3D programs
Supervise the production of 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of various complexity by project designers
Develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline design work
Develop deliverables production schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, including workforce forecasts
Establish, track, and monitor quantities estimate of bulk and key materials; provide analysis and forecasts
Confirm project quality requirements are adhered to and with appropriate cross checking
Cross check design against projects specifications, including design criteria
Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements
Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and fifteen (15) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to seventeen (17) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to undertake civil design in one or more of the following areas
o Plant site development earthwork
o Access road and infrastructure
o Storm drainage management
o Underground utilities
o Water supply and transportation
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job, including CAD drafting and modeling
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
Practical field experience
Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

Compressed work schedule: The Fluor Vancouver offices work a compressed work schedule offering every second Friday off.

Relocation: This position is not eligible for company sponsored relocation assistance
